I sit in my chair everyday scanning through the numerous news channels.  I'm not bias, I watch CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and Headline news.  Each and everyday I hear about how well Hillary Clinton is polling.  Hillary has already been named the Democratic nominee for the presidency.  Stack her up against the republicans and she looks like a winner.  My only question is.....WHY????

I just don't understand why so many people are willing to elect a person to the presidency that has admitted to record setting tax increases.  She has already said the rich will see increases.  Those darn Bush tax cuts to the rich that have helped keep the economy rolling must go.  The only question is what does she consider rich.  We know the capital gains tax is going up, no if, ands, or buts about that.  To pay for the increase in SCHIP she's all for raising the tax on tobacco.  Taxing cigs to pay for a health program raises some real serious questions that need to be discussed too.  What happens when people actually quit smoking because it costs too much to smoke?  How are we going to pay for SCHIP then?  I bet Hillary can find some tax that needs to be raised.

While we are on health care, let's talk about her mandatory health care rule.  So it's going to be law that everybody has to purchase health care.  Wow, that sounds great, but who's going to pay for those that can't afford it?  Oh...that's right, Hillary will give a tax credit to those that can not afford it on their own.  First of all, how is a tax credit in April, going to help me pay my health insurance in October?  It's not!  Secondly, whose gonna pay for those tax credits?  That's right,  those that can afford to have health insurance are going to have to squeeze a little more out, and pay for those that can't.  Isn't that special, not only do I have to pay for my government mandated health insurance, but I have to pay extra for those not insured.  Gee kinda sounds like that government mandated racket......car insurance.

So anybody can see Hillary is open and upfront of the fact that she's gonna raise taxes.  Now we hear rumors of a 50 cent per gallon of gas global warming tax and rumors of eliminating the home mortgage deduction.  What's next?

Somebody please explain to me why so many people are so willing to elect a person that is so definately going to raise our taxes?

President Bush has seen poor approval ratings for quite some time now.  I feel that's in large part due to the bias media coverage currently in the United States, but that's for another day.  Democrats swept into control of Congress and the Senate talking about change and a new direction.  What we've gotten is the same ole bitter politics we've had for years. 

All politicians take these darn numbers and spin them however they need to make themselves look and feel good.  The problem is, the public is fed up with politics in general.  This constand finger pointing and bickering is what the public is fed up with.  For years we heard from democrats how the republican controlled senate and congress bullied them and shut them out.  So the democrats used any methods at their disposal to derail anything the republicans tried to do.  Now the tides have turned and the democrats are trying to shove anything and everything it can down the throats of the republicans.  Unfortunately, the democrats taught the republicans well.  They know all the tricks to derail their agendas.

The democrats need to quite trying to shove legislature down the throats of the republicans.  We are finished with this us against them mentality in politics.  Why are the democrats pushing through legislation that they know will be stopped or vetoed?  Why can't they actually meet with poeple on the other side and talk about the problem and come up with a joint solution.  Wouldn't it make more sense to come up with a plan that both sides of the isle can agree with.  Heavan forbid they actually work together.

And why dwell on things that you know are going nowhere.  The democrats are still trying to investigate the US Attorney firings.  They claim they were politically motived.  Well hell yes they were, just like every other time this has happened in history.  There has not been a president that hasn't fired a bunch of attorneys.  The attorneys work at the descretion of the president.  He has full hire and fire athority and has to have no reason to do it.  So why waste all this energy and valuable time investigating something that we already know the answer too?  President Bush has full authority to do what he did.

Another waste of time fight is the pardon of Scooter Libby.  It doesn't really matter why President Bush pardoned him.  Just like every president before, he has full authority to pardon anybody for any reason that the wishes.  The investigation is going to go nowhere and reach the results we already know.  Why waste the time and energy.

In the end the democrats are going to blame the republicans for their poor rating and the republicans are going to blame the democrats for theirs.  The real answer is, people are tired of the bickering and do nothing politics that are going on today.  We, the public, want something to get done.

It looks like NBC once again is being accused of being bias toward the liberal left and it's people and agendas.  Al Gore and the Live Earth propoganda was given numerous hours of free airtime.  The content that was put out went 100% unchallenged.  There were zero differing opinions or facts presented during the Live Earth event.

Some conservatives and those on the far right are crying foul.  Saying that NBC did not provide proper opportunity under the Fairness Doctrine to the other sides opinion.  Here's the kicker, they don't have to.  Al Gore is not running for any political office.  Because of that, NBC can claim this is a non political event.  This event is a current issues event that all should be a part of.

This does show that NBC no longer wishes to be a news or fair reporting broadcaster.  NBC is only interested in broadcasting events and facts that support the opinions of it's high level employees and executives.  Networks once were expected to present the facts on both sides of an issue and let the viewer decide for themselves.  NBC execs have decided they know what's right and wrong and only present the facts that they believe tell the story they want told.

That is what has become of our major networks.  NBC, CBS, and ABC are all decidedly left leaning networks.  Anybody that does not see this, is in complete denial because they agree with the information that is being filtered.  Fox is the best of the worst.  Fox is right leaning, but does a better job of giving the other side it's chance to speak. 

That is why talk radio and the internet is booming.  It is the last places that both sides can give their own unfiltered opinions.
